Lufthansa: A380 take-off on June 11th

Beijing (from August 25th on) and Johannesburg (from October 25th on) are to follow later this year. But the maiden flight LH2010 headed towards Johannesburg, flying Germany’s national football team to the world championships in South Africa on June 6th.

Emirates orders 32 A380 in Berlin

Orders: First 58, now 90 © Emirates AirlinesEmirates announced their ordering another 32 A380s at the ILA air show in Berlin and is therefore becoming the biggest A380 purchaser with now 90 instead of 58 ordered A380s. In addition they were delivered their 10th A380 at the ILA. Their new aircraft (MSN 009 with registration number A6-EDJ) was flown directly from the Airbus facility in Finkenwerder to Berlin-Schönefeld where it was handed over. The aircraft will be displayed at the show on June 8th and 9th 2010.

First A380 connection in German-speaking countries

Overlooking Zürich © Zürich TourismusSingapore Airlines will be the first airline to operate the A380 from Zurich, starting March 28th 2010. Departure of the daily connection SQ345 is at noon in Zurich, return flight SQ346 leaves Singapore at 1:10 a.m.. The aircraft is equipped with 12 First Class Suites, 60 Business Class and 399 Economy Class seats.
